Nobutsura Hasebe

Background

Nobutsura Hasebe was born in 1218. Nobutsura Hasebe was the son of Tametsura.

Career

He was well-known for his valor. Was in the service of Prince Mochihito. When the prince’s plot to overthrow the powerful Taira family in cooperation with Yorimasa Minamoto was exposed, the prince was in danger of being taken prisoner by the Tairas. Nobutsura disguised the prince as a woman and let him escape. He himself remained and desperately fought against some 50 men single-handed. Finally heavily wounded and captured, he was tortured.
