Has served on Whitechapel Board of Guardians and Central Unemployment Body. Member of Home Office Departmental Committee on Lead Poisoning. Founded a farmers’ co-operative society.
Has travelled in the near East and actively interested himself in Macedonia. Member of Parliament (Liberal) Whitby, 1905-1906. Is Chairman of the Balkan Committee.
Has contested Ipswich. Formerly major in the volunteers. Advocate of temperance legislation, small holdings, etc.
Supporter of Christian Social Union. Part-author of The Heart of the Empire. Member of Parliament (Liberal) N. Norfolk since 1910.
