Career
He was elected to the 7th Seanad in 1951 by the Labour Panel. He lost his seat at the 1954 Seanad election. He stood unsuccessfully for Dáil Éireann on two occasions.
He stood as a Clann na Poblachta candidate for the Dún Laoghaire and Rathdown constituency at the 1948 general election, and as a National Progressive Democrats candidate in the Dublin South–Central constituency at the June 1958 by-election.
