Career
He made two appearances in European competition while at Shamrock Rovers, and in January 1958, moved to Leeds United for a £5,000 fee. Peyton spent five seasons at Leeds, a period when the club was relegated to the Second Division at the end of the 1959-1960 season and fought a battle against relegation to the Third Division during the 1961-1962 season. He scored 20 goals in 117 appearances for Leeds before joining York City for £4,000 in July 1963, where he made 37 appearances, scoring four goals, during the 1963-1964 season.
Peyton played six times for the Republic of Ireland national football team, once while at Shamrock Rovers.
