She was raised on Mercer Island, a suburb of Seattle. At 13 years old Reno began working for Elite Model Management. She modeled in Tokyo, Europe, South Africa and New York City during her high school years before moving to Los Angeles at the age of 18.
Film director Michael Bay cast Reno in his Mercedes-Benz South-Class television commercial.
She retained a Hollywood talent agent and appeared in a handful of commercials and the independent film Ice Queen. In 2006, Matthew Mellon backed Reno in the creation of a clothing brand called Degrees of Freedom.
Saks, Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Nordstrom, Villa Moda and Tsum carried the line. Lindsey Lohan, Paris Hilton and Giuliana Rancic wore the product.
Model Poppy Delevigne fronted the first campaign.
Reno sold her equity to Mellon in 2008 for an undisclosed sum
In 2008, Reno partnered with Zandra Rhodes in the creation of Z by Zandra Rhodes clothing line. The brand was launched in Harvey Nichols. In 2013 Reno became an equity partner in vintage jewellery company Lulu’s Estate Jewellery.
She is a presenter on Fashion television, where she covers fashion, lifestyle, current events, and celebrities.
She has also worked with Channel 5 (United Kingdom) and British Broadcasting Corporation Four. Reno is a frequent fashion blogger. and public speaker.
Reno is one of six co-stars in a docu-drama on Bravo called Ladies of London.
