Background
The daughter of the late Alan B. Gold, former Chief Justice of the Superior Court of Quebec, and Lynn Lubin Gold, a professor of English literature, Nora Gold received her Bachelor of Social Work from McGill University and her Master of Social Work and Doctor of Philosophy in social work from the University of Toronto.
Career
From 1990 to 2000 she was an associate professor at McMaster University, before leaving academe to pursue writing full time. She currently serves as Writer-in-Residence and Associate Scholar at the Centre for Women"s Studies in Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto. Gold holds both Canadian and Israeli citizenships.
