Norayr Tagvori Musheghian was born in Yerevan to Armenian parents, survivors of Armenian Genocide. He died, aged 76, in his home city of Yerevan.

He was the first Armenian Free-style Wrestling World Champion (1958) and World Cup winner, Free-style Wrestling Champion of Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics (1958 and 1959), and Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Second Spartakiad winner (1959), Deserved master of sports of the Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics (1966). He was the founder of Free-style wrestling school of Yerevan and "Zoravar Andranik" All-Armenian Union (1986).
