Rotunno, Noreda Anthony was born on June 13, 1898 in Fondi, Italy. Son of Alberto and Teresa Maria (Velletri) Rotunno.


Came to the United States, 1901, naturalized, 1906. Bachelor of Science, Syracuse (New York) U., 1921, Master of Science, 1923. M.L.A., Harvard University, 1937.


Instructor landscape archaeology Syracuse University, 1921-1927, assistant professor, 1927-1934, professor, head department, 1937-1965, emeritus, 1965-1978. Private practice professional landscape design, Syracuse, 1931-1978. Landscape archaeology Syracuse University, 1942-1965.

Works include: gardens, estates, industrial complexes, university campuses, school public housing, recreation areas. Vice-president, director Thousand Island Park Corporation, 1958-1978. Consultant restoration of Sonnenberg Gardens, Canandaigua, New York, 1966-1978.

Chairman Syracuse Planning Commission, 1957-1971, Onondaga County Planning Commission, 1967-1971. Board directors Council Cultural Agilysys, 1959-1962. Member Citizens Council Urban Renewal, 1960-1968.
