Accompanied Prince (Shogun) Munetaka to Kamakura to become Hiki-tsukeshu (lawyer) and also began teaching Confucianism to Sanetoki Ho jo. His appointment with the Shogun at Kamakura is of significance, as it marked the introduction of Confucianism into state affairs for the first time in Japan's history (1252).
