Norm Shadlow was born at Street Peters, New South Wales on 15 October 1899 and joined the Street George Dragons after enlisting in World War I in 1918.

He went on to play 46 first grade games between 1921-1926 with Street George Dragons. He later enlisted in the Australian Army during World World War II under the name of Norman Patrick Shadlow (NX53834). Norm Shadlow and died at Concord Repatriation Hospital on 28 June 1948, and was cremated at Woronora Cemetery on 1 July 1948.
He was a member of Street George"s first very team that played on 23 April 1921 against Glebe.
