He was educated in the city’s public schools of New York, and had a course of architectural study at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
He began his career as draftsman for the firm of McKim, Mead & White. In later years while with the firm of York & Sawyer, he had much to do with the plans for the Department of Commerce building in Washington, the Transportation Building at No. 225 Broadway, New York, and Salmon Towers, an Apartment House in the city. Member of York & Sawyer’s office for a number of years prior to his decease, connected with the design of several of the firm’s important works.
