Career

Owner bus and truck business. Former minister foreign affairs Free Lao Front (Neo Lao Issara) Resistance Government. Deputy for Sam Neua National Assembly, 1957.

Arrested, 1959; escaped, 1960. Vice chairman, then 1st vice chairman Council of Ministers, 1975-1990. Minister finance Government of Laos, 1975-1982, president, 1992-1998.

Advisor central committee Lao People's Revolutionary Party. Viet-Minh delegate for conference of Asian and Pacific Region, 1952. Representative Pathet Lao at Geneva Conference on Indochina with Viet-Minh delegate, 1954.

Leader Lao Patriotic Front (Neo Lao Hak Sat) delegate to Ban Namone peace talks, 1961, member standing committee, 1964. Active Political Bureau.
