Admitted to Massachusetts bar, 1891, later to practice before Supreme Court of the United States. Member various law firms in Boston, since 1891, Roberts, Cushman & Woodberry, since 1926. Specializes in patent and trade mark law.

Formerly lecturer on patent law at Massachusetts Institute Technology and Harvard Law School.
