He penned a series of monographs in Russian and German languages. The main object of his studies was Pamir, where he spent most of his life. Authorof the idea of plant communities movements influenced by the growth of the mountains. In addition to research, has written several popular science books and a collection of adventure stories in which artistically reworked his Pamir experiences.
