In the play titled "Ise Ondo Koi No Netaba", Mitsugu Fukuoka, a samurai, becomes intimate with the master of Aburaya in connection with the search for a certam sword. Mitsugu and Okon become lovers in the interval but Okon grows cold to him. Enraged, Mitsugu kills Okon and many other people and finally himself in the Furuichi gay quarters. The play was inspired by the actual murder by an intoxicated physician of nine persons which took place at Aburaya in 1796.
