Okuwa Koji joined the Japan Advertiser (1921), serving for 11 years. Joined the Rengo News Service and established the Okuyama Service, forerunner of Tokyo News, Ltd. (1933). Founded Shipping & Trade News (1949) and the English evening newspaper, Tokyo Evening News (present Asahi Evening News), 1953.
