She has a diploma in Senior Managers in Government from Harvard University and a diploma in secretary admin from Burleigh College. She was the former chairman of the house committee of prisons. Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas sponsored a bill on the compulsory breast feeding of babies in 2013.
She is a member of the All Progressives Congress party and represents the Lagos Island I Federal Constituency of Lagos state, Nigeria. She is currently the Chairman of the committee on Public Procurement and also a member of committees on Banking & Currency, Diaspora, Niger Delta and Women in parliament.
