At the Euros 2006 he lost his semifinal Andrey Balanov 11:31. He qualified for the Olympics by besting Jaoid Chiguer, English teenager Billy Joe Saunders and two other fighters. In Beijing he defeated Dominican teenager Gilbert Lenin Castillo but lost to Tureano Johnson 4:9.
