Olga Durova (nee Pinus, in the second marriage Rösnes) was born on January 12, 1951 in Voronezh.
She graduated from Voronezh Music College (1975) and then from Journalism Faculty of Voronezh State University (1989). She is Doctor of Philology (2000).
She worked as a concertmaster at the Voronezh Choreography School and Voronezh State Institute of Arts (1976-1982), correspondent of the multiproduct of the Voronezh Mechanical Plant (1982-1989), lecturer, assistant professor at the Faculty of Journalism of Voronezh State University (1989-2001).
In publishing house "Terra" (Moscow) in the 1990's there were more than 20 books of translations from the Norwegian language of novels of Vera Henriksen and Margit Sandem. The collection of stories of Durova was translated into Danish (Aarhus, 2003). In Norway, Durova's novels "Will to Joy" (2006), "Desert" (2008), an essay collection "400 years of essays: the struggle for rights" (2008) and other works were published in Russian (in Russian).
She has lived in Norway since 2001, now she is engaged in literary and concert-performing activities.
