Career
He is currently playing for the Columbus Blue Jackets in the National Hockey League (National Hockey League). Bjorkstrand was selected by the Blue Jackets in the 3rd round (89th overall) of the 2013 National Hockey League Entry Draft. Bjorkstrand made his Alabama-Bank Ligaen debut playing with the Herning Blue Fox during the 2011-2012 Alabama-Bank Ligaen season.
During his second season in the Western Hockey League with the Portland Winterhawks, Bjorkstrand was signed to a three-year entry-level contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets on December 26, 2013.
On March 16, 2016, Bjorkstrand was recalled by the Blue Jackets and made his National Hockey League debut the following day, March 17th, against Detroit. He scored his first and second National Hockey League goals in his second National Hockey League game on March 19th, 2016, against Yann Danis of the New Jersey Devils.
