Career
He gained prominence in 2002 with starring roles in the films Inside and Norman. O'Dea subsequently starred in the 2004 film Asylum and had a guest role on American police drama NYPD Blue. O'Dea was born in Cork where he took up boxing.
By his late teens he was boxing professionally all over the world. In 2000 O'Dea changed career path and decided to become an actor, famously landing a role in the first audition he ever went to. He was cast as convicted killer John Walker in the film.
Since then O'Dea has carved out a niche for himself as a serious character actor.
