Succeeded late James Rice on Educational Times. Wrote for many papers, magazines, reviews. Rowed, and played football at Oxford.
Helped Montagu Shearman to start the Athletic Review. Became assistant-editor Vanity Fair, 1887. Editor, 1889- 1904.
Manager, 1895-1903. Having had as a pupil first Siamese ever called to the English Bar, afterwards Siamese Minister of Justice, was offered a judgeship in Bangkok. Barrister.
