Career

Admitted to bar, 1863, and began practice at Chicago. Corporation counsel, 1887. Judge of Circuit Court, 1887-1903, serving in Appellate Court, 1st District of Illinois, 1888-1903.

Trustee Garrett Biblical Institute, Northwestern University, Lewis Institute, and Wesley Hospital. Delegate General Conference of Methodist Episcopal Church Church, 1880, 1900, Ecumenical Conference, London, 1881. President Laymen’s Association, Rock River Conference Home: Evanston, Ill.
