Career
Watkins joined Exeter City"s Academy two years after failing a trial with the club at the under-9 level After making his way through the ranks, Watkins signed a two-year professional contract with the club in April 2014. He made his debut in the Football League on 3 May, in a 2–0 League Two victory over Hartlepool at Victoria Park.
He scored his first senior goal at the Ricoh Arena on 7 October 2014, in a 3–1 defeat to Coventry City in the Football League Trophy.
He joined Conference South side Weston-super-Mare on loan during the 2014-2015 season, alongside Exeter teammate Matt Jay. Watkins is a forward, and according to the Western Morning News is "renowned for his pace, dribbling skills and strength".
