After finishing Robert College in 1953, he studied engineering and painting in the United States between 1953 and 1957.
He opened his first solo exhibition in Boston in 1955.
He resided in London and Paris in 1965, in the US and Mexico in 1972-1973, and in Nigeria in 1973-1977. Since 1983, he was living in Paris and spent a significant part of the year in Istanbul. He led many international and domestic exhibitions, mainly Paris, Berlin and Istanbul. The artist, who did not limit himself to canvas painting, produced various works of art by using different materials and contributed differently to Turkish art.
Ömer Uluç died in Istanbul in 2010.
