Forman played for the Adelaide 36ers from 2001 until 2006, winning a championship with the club in 2002, before moving to the New Zealand Breakers for the 2006-2007 season. While playing primarily as a power forward, Forman is often used as a small forward where he has gained a reputation as specialist three-point shooter. He also led the NBL in three-point shooting % in the 2004-2005 season, with an average of 47%.
In the 2007 and 2008 NBL off-seasons, he played for the Harbour Heat of New Zealand National Basketball League (NZNBL), earning All-Star Five honours in his first year with the club
In July 2007, he re-signed with the Breakers on a three-year contract. In April 2010, Forman signed a one-year deal with the Wollongong Hawks.
In 2011, he re-signed with the Hawks on a two-year deal. Forman was named as the starting small forward for the North All-Stars at the 2012 NBL All-Star Game played at the Adelaide Arena.
He joined fellow Hawks players Adris Deleon and Lance Hurdle, as well as his Wollongong coach Gordie McLeod who was the coach for the North team
Forman also participated in the All-Star Three-Point Shootout. On 5 May 2013, Forman re-signed with the Hawks for the 2013-2014 NBL season. On 30 June 2014, he re-signed with the Hawks on a two-year deal.
On 2 November 2014, Forman played his 400th NBL game, becoming just the 43rd player in NBL history to reach such a feat.
On 1 July 2015, Forman signed a one-year deal with the renamed Illawarra Hawks. The Hawks went on to lose Game 3, bowing out of the playoffs with a 2–1 series loss.
