Oscar Strok was born on January 6, 1893, in Daugavpils, Latvia.
Oscar Strok performed on stage and as a pianist in movies. In 1918, he created an orchestra and toured the South of the country with it. During the Civil war, Oscar Strok lived and worked in the city of Voronezh where he took part in the organization of the people's theater performance - the mystery Praise of the revolution (1918, the Bolshoi Soviet Theatre).
Oscar Strok wrote and selected music for various theatrical plays. On the capture of Voronezh by the troops of the 3rd Kuban cavalry corps of Lieutenant General A.G. Shkuro (October 1919) wrote the General Shkuro March, performed at the Hermitage garden theater (where he performed with the orchestra on October 11 and 12).
