Background

Wenderoth, Oscar was born on April 10, 1871 in at Philadelphia. Son of Frederick Augustus and Mary (Blascheck) Wenderoth.

Education

Public school education.

Career

Entered office of local architect, Philadelphia, at 15. Became draftsman in office of supervising architect, Washington, 1897. Was made assistant superintendent of construction in charge erection Mint building, Philadelphia.

Head draftsman to superintendent of the United States Capitol in charge of work on House and Senate Office buildings, 1904. Advanced to position of architect. Resigned, 1909, to become head draftsman to Carrere & Hastings, architects, New York.

Supervising architect to Treasury Department, July 16, since 1913.
