He finished his elementary and technical education in Wisconsin, and moved to North Dakota in 1905.
Elected Member William School District, 1911, resigned to accept position as mgr. of Farmers Elevator, Tappen, North Dakota, 1912. Elected Clerk, Tappen Township, 1916, re-elected 1918, 1920, 1922, 1924 and 1926. Elected first Village Marshall, Tappen, North Dakota, 1914, re-elected each year and resigned 1918.
Elected Member State Legislature, 1922, re-elected 1924, 1926 and 1928. Also received unanimous endorsement for 1930 election. Chairman and member several important legislative comms.
Delegate to State Convention of Nonpartisan League, 1925-1930.
