1913-1920 worked as agronomist and chemist at laboratories and experimental stations in Kiev Oblast. 1921-1931 professor, Belorussian Agric Academy. From 1931 director. Soil Liming Laboratory, All-Union Institute of Fertilizers, Agrotechnics and Agropedology.
1931-1941 also professor, Timiryazcv Agric Institute, Moscow. 1941-1946 acad secretary, Department of Natural and Acric Sciences, Belorussian Academy of Sciences. Member, Learned Council, LISSR Min of Agric.
Attended 3rd International Congress of Pedologists, Oxford. 1955 attended International Atomic Energy Conference, Geneva. Member, USSR Committee for the Development of the Chemical Ind.
Member, Mendeleyev All- Union Chemical Social. Chairman, Agrochemistry and Pedology Section, House of Scientists, USSR Academy of Sciences. Member, editorial board, journal Pochvovedeniye.
