Career
He served as the head football coach at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1907. Prior to his coaching career, Lamson played college football while attending the University of Pennsylvania. In 1905, he earned All-American honors from Walter Camp.
He was born in Beetown, Wisconsin in 1876.
In 1906, Lamson was hired by the Massillon Tigers to play for the team in the "Ohio League" championship. During that two game series, a betting scandal involving the Tigers and their rivial, the Canton Bulldogs, arose.
