She accompanied her husband in his campaign in eastern Japan. When his ship was crossing from Sagami (Kanagawa Prefecture) to Kazusa (Chiba Prefecture), it met a storm and was about to capsize. She plunged into the sea by way of placating the God of the Sea and the storm subsided.
The place called Hashirimizu today is said to have been the point where she sacrificed herself.
