Herzog was an early worldwide climber, who first began to use the Carabiner for climbing. 1913: First ascent of south side from Schüsselkarspitze, Austria (together with Hans Fiechtl)
1921: First ascent of Dreizinkenspitze in Karwendel, Austria (together with Gustav Haber).
