Ordained Lutheran ministry, 1897. Pastor Superior, Wisconsin, 1897-1904. Succeeded father as pastor St. John Lutheran Congregation, Madison, Wisconsin, 1904.

Pastor emeritus since 1946. Vice president and director Lutheran Mutual Fire Insurance Association, vice-president and director Provident Loan & Building Association, 1932-1947.
