Career
Born in Balsall Heath, Birmingham, he was articled to the architect John George Bland in 1893, succeeding Bland in the practice in 1898. From 1902 onwards he designed a notable series of large private houses in Arts and Crafts styles in upmarket districts of Birmingham including Moseley, Kings Heath, Selly Park, Barnt Green and Four Oaks. His most important surviving work is Kilmuir in Amesbury Road, Moseley, which is Grade I listed.
