Oyu Ono-no

Ono-no-Oyu served Emperors Gensho and Shomu. He rose to the rank of Dazai Daini, a high office in the government of Kyushu. He was the author of a famous waka expressing admiration of the prosperous capital of Nara.
Until recently he was erroneously recorded to have died in 737.
