Background

Following his retirement, he moved to Midwest City where he died on August 2, 1980 at the age of eighty-one.

Education

He got education at public schools in Jefferson, and Medford, Oklahoma.

He served in World War I, then returned to Oklahoma and enrolled at the University of Oklahoma in Norman where he studied law and played for the 1918 Oklahoma Sooners football team.

He was inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame.

Career

He was admitted to Okla. bar in 1936, also U.S. Supreme Court, other fed. courts;

municipal judge, Enid, Okla., 1938;

sec. to Congressman Ross Rizley, eighth dist., Okla., 1941;

pvt. practice, Enid, Oklahoma.

After his retirement from Congress, the federal courthouse in Tulsa was named in his honor. In addition, Tulsa is home to the Page Belcher golf course.
