Also, since 2011 Paitela is the captain for Nauti Football Club the most successful team of Tuvalu. Paitela was capped three times with the Tuvalu national football team at the 2007 South Pacific Games. Paitela was also capped six times with the Tuvalu national futsal team at the 2008 Oceanian Futsal Championship, and a further four times at the 2010 Oceanian Futsal Championship.
