She received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon. She worked for a short time as flight attendant for Pan American Airlines before marrying an architect from Mexico City architect and living there for 18 years. She taught Spanish to corporate executives, worked as an actress and model in Mexican and American movies including "Caveman," "Under Fire", and "Volunteers" and later worked as a United States. Customs Agent in San Diego.
She moved to Vancouver and began writing before resettling on the Georgia coast.He work includes three historical novels (Neptune"s Honor (2005), An Angry Drum Echoed (2007) and Splendid Isolation (2010)) and she"s also had "Kiska Trilogy" ("The Bumpedy Road" (1999), "Rain City Cats" (2000) and "Eight Paws to Georgia") about a cat named Kiska whose journey mirrors that of the author as she moves from Mexico to San Diego to Canada to the southeastern United States.
Other books by Mueller include "Hello, Goodbye, I Love You" (2003) and "Aloha Crossing" (2008) about guide dogs. "Neptune"s Honor" is about an antebellum era Sea Island slave.
