He won both the 2006 ISSF World Shooting Championships and the 2008 Olympic Games in 10 m Air Pistol. On November 29, 2009, Pang married to two-time Olympic shooting champion Du Li in Baoding, Hebei. Pang Wei won the gold medal for Men"s 10 m air pistol. Having won China"s first gold medal in shooting during the Games, he was awarded 2,000,000 RMB (United States$292,600) from Chinese sponsors.
