Divilly was born in Raheen County Limerick and moved to Galway at the age of ten.

After attending Barna National school at primary level and Colaiste Iognaid at secondary level Pat completed a degree in Arts (Geography and Economics) at National University of Ireland Galway.
He is the oldest of four children, to parents Colm and Carol. He then went on to become qualified as a personal trainer before moving to England to complete a Masters in Exercise and Nutrition Science at the University of Chester. Fitness was Divilly’s interest since his teenage, he was first introduced to the gym at age of 14.
He started his career in a commercial gym in Dublin after the completion of a master’s in nutrition science in 2011, before setting up his own fitness classes.
He later moved home to Galway. In 2012, he founded Pat Divilly Fitness as a small fitness class on Silverstrand beach Barna Company
Galway. The class quickly grew and within a year Pat set up a studio in Barna village.
He quickly built a large online following and was acknowledged by Facebook"s Sheryl Sandberg for his social media presence. Divilly was one of the first trainers in Ireland to initiate online fitness courses.
His first book, 21 Day Jump Start, was published in 2013 and became the best selling health and fitness book in Ireland.The book covers his personal experience as well as nutrition and exercise techniques. As of 2013, he regularly appears as an expert in health and nutrition in his field in magazines, newspapers and television
In May of 2013, Pat became an ambassador for Cystic Fibrosis Ireland and as part of his fundraising efforts he brought the worlds largest team (of over 500) to Tough Mudder raising over €160,000 in for the charity in the process.
More recently, Pat has become youth mental health ambassador for Console suicide prevention charity in 2015.
