The law offices were started in Concepción (Former Capital) by Antonio Urrutia y Mendiburu"s brother-in-law, Juan Martinez de Rozas, in 1795.
Juan Martinez de Rozas was the intellectual leader of the Chilean independence and Vice President of the first Chilean independent government. While in Concepción, Urrutia"s Law Firm gave advice to the local government and major family interests in the region.
In 1938, Enrique Urrutia Manzano practiced in the judicial power and moved residence to Santiago. In 1970, he became President of the Chilean Supreme Court.
