Patricia Woertz was born in Pennsylvania in 1953. She graduated from Pennsylvania State University with an accounting degree. She started her career as an accountant for the professional services firm Ernst & Young, and then became a part of oil company Gulf Oil.From there, she moved up the ranks and eventually became president of Chevron International, and then executive vice president for the global downstream operations of Chevron.
Career
At present, in addition to heading Archer Daniels Midland, she is a member of the board of directors of the famous health care company Procter & Gamble. She is also a board member of The Business Council and the International Business Council of the World Economic Forum.
In addition, Patricia Woertz is part of the board of visitors of Penn State University and the board of trustees of the University of San Diego.
