He first began his education at Rutgers College earning a Bachelor of Science. He then attended Albany Medical College, working on an advanced degree, where he obtained a Master of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He graduated as President of his class.
Hsu received his Medical Degree from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Additionally, he was named Alpha Omega Alpha for excellence. Following medical school, Hsu went to the acclaimed Michael East. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine.
This surgical instruction program is considered to be among the most demanding and challenging in the United States.
Doctor Hsu concluded his plastic surgery fellowship at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-Robert Wood Johnson. Subsequently, he devoted a year to a fellowship in Microsurgery at the world-renowned Doctor of Medicine Anderson Cancer Center.
While there he trained in all facets of reconstructive surgery, with significant emphasis on highly developed strategies in breast reconstruction. He co-authored, Plastic Surgery Emergencies: Principles and Techniques, a textbook used for teaching purposes in the education of residents, clinicians, and emergency room staff, in swiftly assessing and treating critical care problems in the emergency room environment.

The practice focuses primarily on cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, which includes breast augmentation, tummy tuck and liposuction.
