He was educated at Ampleforth College, Edinburgh College of Art and Street Marylebone School of Artist
His artistic career was interrupted by military service in the Scots Guards from 1943-1947. Smaller church commissions in Buckinghamshire included Christ Church Flackwell Heath, Street Mary the Virgin"s Church, Fawley, Street Mary the Virgin, Turville and Street Paul"s Bledlow Ridge. Reyntiens then moved to Somerset where he has lived for many years and designed a window for the church of Stoke Street Mary.
His work is included in the stained glass collection at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
He is notable for his work on Liverpool"s Roman Catholic Cathedral and on the new Coventry Cathedral in collaboration with the artist John Piper. He also designed the windows of many other buildings in the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States.
