Talamantes received a bachelors from Stanford University and an Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Career
He held various positions with Manufacturers Hanover Trust which in turn became Chemical Bank from 1986 to 1995. Treasurer of River City Broadcasting from 1995 to 1996 which in turn became Sinclair Broadcast Group from 1996 to 2001 (including the Chief Financial Officer position from 2000 to 2001). He joined McClatchy as Chief Financial Officer in April 2001.
In June 2011 he assumed additional responsibilities for McClatchy"s Florida operations.
