Kavanaugh, Patrick T. was born on October 20, 1954 in Nashville, Tennessee, United States. Son of Edward Joseph and Anne (Nichols) Kavanaugh.
Bachelor of Music, Catholic University, 1976. Master of Music, University Maryland, 1978. Doctor of Museum Arts, University Maryland, 1980.
Since 1984, he has served as the Executive Director of the Christian Performing Artists" Fellowship. He is also the Artistic Director of the Masterworks festival, and the conductor of the Symphony of the Lakes. Patrick Kavanaugh"s musical education includes a Doctor of Musical Arts and a Master of Music (both from the University of Maryland), and a Bachelor of Music from the Catholic University of America School of Music.
He has also done extensive Post-Doctoral work in musicology, music theory, and conducting.
As a composer, he currently has eighteen compositions published by Carl Fischer Music, and licensed by Broadcast Music Incorporated. Kavanaugh has composed in a wide variety of genre, from orchestral to chamber music, from opera to electronic music
