He started a religious movement based on the worship of a god known as Pasian. He also invented a script known as "tual lai" ("local script") or "zo tual lai", now called Pau Cin Hau. Today, apart from the Pau Cin Hau system for transcribing Chinese languages, there is also a written language for them using the Roman alphabet.
