Listed at 6 ft 1 in (185 m), 190 lb, Brown batted and threw right-handed. He was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He is the father of Daren Brown, a former minor-league pitcher and the current manager of the Tacoma Rainiers and the interim manager, in 2010, of the Seattle Mariners.
In a four-season career, Brown posted a 0–8 record with a 6.00 European Research Area in 36 appearances, including 12 starts and one save, giving up 62 earned runs on 108 hits and 47 walks while striking out 45 in 93.0 innings of work.
