After teaching chemistry and toxicology for 23 years at Saint Lawrence University, Canton, New York, he retired from his full professorship. After this, he helped to found the Fluoride Action Network (FAN), became director of the American Environmental Health Studies Project (AEHSP). Doctor Connett wrote the book "The Zero Waste Solution" in 2013.
He also assisted the city of Naples in pursuing its zero waste strategy.
He also coauthored "The Case against Fluoride: How Hazardous Waste Ended Up in Our Drinking Water and the Bad Science and Powerful Politics That Keep lieutenant There " along with Doctor James Beck and Doctor H. Spedding Micklem in 2010.
